Hard Corps Uprising is the spiritual successor to Konami's 1994 run-and-gun title Contra: Hard Corps for the Sega Mega Drive console. Serving as a prequel to the original Contra, Uprising follows a squadron of elite soldiers battling a tyrannical world empire.

Developed by Arc System Works, Hard Corps: Uprising for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 features a music score by Guilty Gear composer Daisuke Ishiwatari. In 2015, Egg Music Records published the two-disc soundtrack album, bundling the score with music from Contra 4 and Hard Corps.
