Namco's Hopping Mappy arcade game turns 40
Namco's Hopping Mappy arrived in arcades in Japan 40 years ago. The sequel to the platformer Mappy lends the titular protagonist a pogo stick to dodge and outmaneuver meddlesome boss cat Nyamco (also known as Goro in English-language localizations) and his Meowky underlings.

Mappy composer Nobuyuki Ohnogi designed music and sound effects on the follow-up title. Spanning fifteen tracks for a total runtime of ten minutes, Hopping Mappy Game Sound Effect Original Soundtrack is part of the Namco Legendary series of classic game soundtracks. The album is hosted on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music Unlimited.

Arcade Archives Hopping Mappy is available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The console port published by Hamster Corporation supports alternating two-player play.
