Symphony Ys collects orchestral arrangements of music from Ys I & Ys II, performed by the King Symphonic Orchestra. King Records published the audio cassette and vinyl in 1988, featuring music composed by Yuzo Koshiro, Mieko Ishikawa, and Hideya Nagata.

Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished introduces Adol Christin, the survivor of a shipwreck off the island of Esteria, washed ashore at the walled town of Minea. A fortune teller named Sara Tovah instructs the swordsman to gather the six Books of Ys to combat the monsters overrunning Esteria. She directs him to seek out her aunt Jeba in Zepik Village to search for the first Book housed in a dungeon beneath the Solomon Shrine.

Symphony Ys LP Edition is available for shipping from publisher Wayô Records and distributor Arcline Store in the United States. The digital edition is streaming on Apple Music and YouTube Music, published by Nihon Falcom. Arrangements are by Kentarô Haneda, music composer on Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord (1987) and co-composer of the Space Adventure Cobra anime soundtrack, also pressed on vinyl by Wayô Records.
