Sony Computer Entertainment and Japan Studio published Fantavision for the PlayStation 2 console in 2000. Directed by Katsushi Kanetaka, the fireworks-themed real-time puzzle game served as an early tech demonstration of the PlayStation 2 Emotion Engine's processing capabilities.

Following development on Ape Escape for the PlayStation, Fantavision also presaged Sony's and first-party development head Shuhei Yoshida's involvement in encouraging experimental, independent game publishing. Music for the game, and the updated edition titled "Futari no Fantavision," is by Soichi Terada of Far East Recording.

Fully rebuilt in Unreal Engine, Fantavision 202x by Cosmo Machia Inc. is now available for Windows through Steam, with both monitor and SteamVR compatibility, along with PlayStation 5 with PlayStation VR2 compatibility. The soundtrack album ships on compact disc from distributor Black Screen Records in Europe

Fantavision, Futarino Fantavision and Fantavision 202x soundtracks by Soichi Terada are streaming on Spotify and Amazon Music Unlimited.

The long-awaited follow-up to one of the very first games released for PlayStation 2 in 2000, Fantavision 202X is a unique puzzle game about detonating fireworks.

Bring dazzling explosions of colour and light to the night sky by catching groups of at least three matching fireworks, then firing them off to create beautiful displays in glorious 4K resolution.

With PlayStation VR2, you can fully immerse yourself in Fantavision’s pyrotechnic world and play dedicated VR Stages. Use the PS VR2 Sense controllers to catch fireworks with greater accuracy, and feel their explosive power through haptic feedback.
