Wing Commander series composer George Oldziey has launched the Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund the Wing Commander Orchestral Project: Volume 2.

The crowdfunding campaign coincides with the 30th anniversary of the launch of Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger, developed by Origin Systems and published by Electronic Arts. Forty minutes of arrangements, recorded with a symphony orchestra, are intended for release on vinyl, compact disc, and digital formats.

Examples of the music planned for recording:

Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger themes Destruction of Kilrah - Kilrathi Surrender, Mission 3, Combat 8.

Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom: Blair Arrives at Telemon, Death of Vagabond, Blair Runs from Guards Down Hallway, Missions 2, 5 and 7, Combat 2, Combat 7.

Wing Commander: Prophecy: Intro, Mission 1, Combat 4.

A 20-minute behind-the-scenes, "The Making of The Wing Commander Orchestral Recording," is streaming on the composer's YouTube channel. Excerpts from the first volume are on SoundCloud, performed by the National Slovak Symphony Orchestra and the Lucina Choir, conducted by Allan Wilson.

Many of you know me, George Oldziey, as the composer for several historic video games but most notably three games from the iconic 1990's Wing Commander series; Wing Commander 3 (Heart of the Tiger), Wing Commander 4 (The Price of Freedom) and Wing Commander; Prophecy.
