System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster has launched for Nintendo Switch 2.

A free upgrade pack is available through the Nintendo eShop for owners of the Nintendo Switch edition. Nightdive Studios' high-definition remaster features enhanced resolution, higher frame rate, and support for mouse controls.

The soundtrack was composed in 1999 by Josh Randall (aka Robotkid) and Ramin Djawadi.


Te action role-playing game utilizes Nightdive's Kex Engine for adjustable field-of-vision and post-processing effects. The studio's deep dive interview with Terri and Eric Brosius delves into their contributions to sound design at Looking Glass Studios.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster for Windows PC is on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, verified for use with the Steam Deck.

The console edition is also available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X|S, PS4 and PlayStation 5. Added features include cross-play multiplayer co-op, mod support, and fifty achievements to unlock.
