Arrangement album Square Enix Jazz: Chrono Trigger is due out January 26th in Japan, headed by arrangers Eijiro Nakagawa and Ryu Kawamura. Preorders are available domestically through the Square Enix store for North America and Europe.

Nakagawa and Kawamura performed jazz renditions of music from Square Enix titles during the Tokyo Game Show in September. For the "Live Painting" event, Nakagawa was featured on trombone, Ryu Kawamura on electric bass and wood bass, Ken Higeshiro on drums, Takana Miyamoto on piano, Naoto Suzuki on electric guitar and acoustic guitar, and Masato Honda on alto sax and soprano sax.

The fifth installment in the Square Enix Jazz album series will center on jazz arrangements of music by Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobuo Uematsu, composed for the Super Nintendo role-playing game. The arranged tracks include the "Chrono Trigger" theme, along with character themes for Frog, Lavos, Robo and Schala.

Excerpts of all 11 jazz renditions are streaming on the official album website. "Square Enix Jazz: Chrono Trigger" is also available for preorder through CDJapan and Play-Asia.
