Namco published Ridge Racer for PlayStation Portable in December of 2004, launching in Japan under the title Ridge Racers to distinguish the handheld racing game from the 1993 arcade title.

King Record pressed the soundtrack album on compact disc in March of 2007, published under the title "Ridge Racers Direct Audio." The album contains 16 original compositions, six arrangements of series themes, and twelve classic tracks from prior Ridge Racer series installments. The digital edition of the compilation is now available through streaming platforms, courtesy of Bandai Namco Game Music.

Music for Ridge Racers Direct Audio is by Hiroshi Okubo, Keiki Kobayashi, Nobuyoshi Sano, Yuu Miyake, Kohta Takahashi, Asuka Sakai, Takayuki Aihara, Tetsukazu Nakanishi, Koji Nakagawa, Junichi Nakatsuru, SamplingMasters MEGA and SamplingMasters AYA. The album is streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music Unlimited.
