Konami has announced a release date of December 15 for the publisher's two box sets of Castlevania series music. Each box set contains thirteen compact discs.

The Kuro (Black) box will feature soundtracks from multiple editions of the same classic games. Castlevania music from the Famicom Disk System, MSX home computer and arcade title will all be represented.

As with American record label Mondo's vinyl soundtrack publications, both Japanese Famicom and Nintendo Entertainment System scores for Castlevania II: Simon's Quest and Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse are included in the Black box. In addition, both the Famicom and Game Boy iterations of Kid Dracula make an appearance. Both the PlayStation score for Castlevania Chronicles and its X68000 home computer predecessor are included.

The Aka (Red) box set will center on more recent entries, including eight additional tracks from the Sega Saturn edition of Symphony of the Night. "Music From Castlevania - Kuro (Black)" and "Music From Castlevania - Aka (Red)" are available for purchase domestically through CDJapan and Play-Asia, with shipping estimated for December 15.

Selections from the Kuro (Black) box—including the Castlevania (Nintendo 64), Castlevania Chronicles and Castlevania Judgment soundtracks—are streaming on Spotify.
