Louisiana-based composer Jammin’ Sam Miller has taken great pains to recreate the soundtrack to Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest using the original equipment utilized by Rare composer David Wise.

Each note the musician extracted from hex SPC data translated into MIDI files. From there, the vintage instruments he introduced into a modern studio setting, integrating keyboard samples and added effects and mastering. The results are an interpretation of how the 1995 game score for Donkey Kong Country 2 would have sounded if freed from the compression required by the Super Nintendo console's technical limitations.

Musique Pour La Danse's jungle green vinyl release ships on two discs from distributor Vinyl Luxe. The digital album is streaming on Bandcamp, SoundCloud, and YouTube.

Donkey Kong Country 2 is part of Nintendo Switch Online services's Super Nintendo game library. From the product page:
Musique Pour La Danse is proud to present the Donkey Kong Country 2 OST [Recreated] of the much appreciated and globally followed Donkey Kong Country OST recreation project led by NY-based composer and producer Jammin’ Sam Miller.

Using hex SPC data crudely converted to MIDI, Jammin' Sam Miller painstakingly recreated DKC's soundtrack note by note, by finding the original equipment used to create it, translating the MIDI into a modern studio context, adding in keyboard samples, and re-mixing the sounds with added effects and mastering.
