Jalecolle Famicom Ver. Rod Land now available for Nintendo Switch
Jalecolle Famicom Ver. Rod Land for Nintendo Switch is now available via the Nintendo eShop, published by City Connection. The eighth installment in the Jalecolle series includes the original Japanese Famicom game with English-language pop-up messages displayed during key story and gameplay moments.

Rod Land launched in December of 1992 for the Nintendo Famicom. Armed with magic wand, fairy siblings Tam and Rit climb Maboots Tower, clearing stages by defeating all enemies onscreen. Collecting every flower on each floor triggers an EXTRA mode for increased point scoring and an extra life; however, taking too much time activates Meanie Mode, making remaining foes faster and more aggressive.

Additional features include beginner-friendly assist function, intuitive rewind controls, quick save and load, wallpapers and screen filter options. An Extra Page showcases original package art, manuals, and flyers. Music for the home console port is by Simon Pick.

Fairy Tale Rod Land (1990) will be included in Jaleco Arcade Collection, scheduled for release through Steam later this year. The '80s and '90s arcade game compilation supports save and rewind functionality, multiple game regions, and customizable rapid-fire settings.

Arcade Archives Rod Land is available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 consoles, published by Hamster Corporation. The soundtrack album by Ihatovo Monogatari composer Tsukasa Tawada is streaming on Spotify and YouTube Music, published by Clarice Disc.

From the Nintendo product page:
Tam and Rit, two fairy siblings, lived peacefully with their Mama in Fairy Village. But one day, a huge ghost kidnapped their mother and took her away to Maboots Tower.

To save Mama, the two set off for the tower with their magical rods and special shoes. Their main attack is to use the rods’ magic to grab enemies and slam them into the ground. The special shoes also let them create and climb ladders. Cross otherwise unreachable platforms, collect items placed high above, and discover new ways through each stage!
