Spanish independent developers Studio Koba and Aeternum Game Studios released Future Knight for Windows PC and consoles in August. The backlit retro aesthetic of the 2D run-and-gun title is patterned after an LCD handheld device; pastel backgrounds evoke 1980s Game & Watch devices.

Set in the year 1993, players swap between a robot hero and Two More, a sentient benign tumor in his abdomen, in a fast-paced race against the clock. The Lady of the Past is wiping humanity’s memory, and only eight hours remain for the dual protagonists to race through eight separate biomes and undo the damage.

Complementing the absurdist scenario, music by Narita Boy composer Salvinsky (Salvador Fornieles Rodero) employs “Electro A Capela” with Spanish-language vocals. Described as "a cocktail of electronics and unexpected voices," the soundtrack album is comprised of twelve music tracks, available for streaming on Spotify and other streaming platforms.

Future Knight is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles, along with Windows PC through Steam. A free demo premiering dueing Steam Next Fest is on Steam.

From the Steam product page:
Future Knight is a 2D action Shoot 'Em Up that fuses the nostalgia of LCD screens with the brutality of modern combat. Imagine your old handheld console coming to life, but with a bizarre story, frantic combat, and a unique visual aesthetic inspired by classic electronic handheld games.
