River City: Rival Showdown scheduled for release on October 12th

Arc System Works has announced a modern port of River City: Rival Showdown, released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2016. Aplus Co., Ltd. developed the remake of the celebrated Famicom title to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Kunio-kun game series.
River City Ransom is the third installment in the Kunio-kun franchise, following Renegade and Super Dodge Ball. First released in Japan under the title "Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari," the brawler developed by Technōs Japan arrived on the 8-bit Nintendo Famicom console in 1989, featuring music by Kazuo Sawa.
River City: Rival Showdown is planned for release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Windows through Steam, promising tight controls, improved backgrounds, and online play. "Double Dragon Duel 2023" is an additional new 2D fighting game, bundled with the console and Windows port.
The Limited Edition physical release for Nintendo Switch ships with the soundtrack on compact disc, scheduled for release on October 12th. The Asia region edition with multiple language options is available through distributor Play-Asia.
The digital soundtrack is streaming on Spotify and YouTube Music, courtesy of the publisher. Classic Kunio-kun series installments are featured in Double Dragon & Kunio-kun: Retro Brawler Bundle for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
