Narrative adventure game Dordogne launched this week for consoles and Windows through Steam, published by Focus Entertainment. Taking place in the the Dordogne River region of Southwest France, players assist a grown adult in recovering her childhood memories.

In the present, protagonist Mimi explores her grandmother’s home, reconnecting with her 10-year-old self. Cédric Babouche, art director at Un Je Ne Sais Quoi, worked within animation group Umanimation to create a distinctive visual style to complement the nostalgic storyline.


"The hand-painted watercolor rendition of that idyllic environment helps convey that sense of quietness. We drew thumbnail sketches facing the actual sceneries to catch a spontaneous feel of the places and give them that enchanting presence. The sound and music will also truly immerse you, with recordings of natural sounds as well as a beautiful ambient score from French band Supernaive."

Single "Brittle Balance" features Canadian musician Joseph Shabason on saxophone. Soundtrack album "Dordogne" by Supernaive is streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music Unlimited. Cover art is by Tual and Budestschu. The double vinyl soundtrack release by Suna Records ships from distributors Bigwax.io and Black Screen Records in Europe.

Regarding the music track "Up!," Supnaive writes, "With this one, we wanted to compose an energetic, warm and playful track, to take the listener by the hand on a unique journey." Dordogne is currently available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X|S, PS4 and PlayStation 5, along with Windows through Steam.
