Stellar Blade launch for PlayStation 5 coincides with release of EP

Developed by Korean studio Shift Up, third-person action-adventure game Stellar Blade launched earlier today, exclusively for PlayStation 5 consoles.

Set on a post-apocalyptic planet Earth, the science fiction title centers on protagonist Eve's quest to aid the 7th Airborne Squad in reclaiming their lost home from a species of mysterious alien creatures, known as the Naytiba.

The Stellar Blade EP, streaming on YouTube Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music Unlimited, selects eight music tracks from the game's score. Clocking in at just over 30 minutes in length, the album features operatic vocals performed by Korean singer Hwang Joo-Eun.


Genres from electronica, to acoustic guitar-led tracks, busky jazz and orchestral offer an array of musical styles, composed by Hwang Joo-Eun, Oliver Good, and Keita Inoue. The complete soundtrack album is planned for release this summer.

"Stellar Blade - The Journey" offers a glimpse behind the scenes of development, including commentary by director Kim Hyung Tae, technical director Lee Dong Gi, writer Kim Hyung Tae, and concept art lead Chang Min Lee. The two-part video series is streaming on the PlayStation YouTube channel.
