Platypus Reclayed demo available during Steam Next Fest
Claymatic Games has launched the Platypus Reclayed playable demo for Windows, available during Steam Next Fest.

Planned for release later this year, the remake of the sidescrolling shoot-em-up revamps the graphics of the original title, while updating the gameplay and adding new weapons and content.

Squashy Software developed the original game in 2002 for Windows. Led by Anthony Flack in New Zealand, the development team utilized plasticine to adapt claymation techniques for use with the independently developed title. A PlayStation Portable port launched in 2006, followed by an Xbox 360 downloadable title in 2009.

Creative direction on the remake is again led by Flack, painstakingly remodeling the graphics using stop-motion animation with support for high-definition monitors. The original soundtrack returns, alongside officially licensed remixes of classic 1980's music from C64audio.

Platypus Reclayed will launch with adjustable difficultly settings and two-player co-operative play for Windows and Mac through Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch consoles.

In the heart of Mungola, a single squadron of fighter planes stands as the last line of defence—the legendary F-27 "Platypus". Despite their age, these antique aircraft are the Mungolan people's last hope for freedom. Are you ready to pilot the Platypus and take on the mighty Collosatropolan battle fleet?
