Final Fantasy VII for Windows adds quality of life features
A new version of Final Fantasy VII has launched for Windows through Steam and GOG, adding quality-of-life features. They include 3× speed mode, the option to turn off random encounters, autosave, and battle enhancement to recover HP and MP, and max out the Limit gauge.

Owners of the previous Steam version can access the build, retitled "Final Fantasy VII – 2013 Edition." Progress does not carry over to the new version from previous save files.

The video soundtrack is streaming on YouTube Music, alongside music playlists dedicated to Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Red XIII, Barret and Sephiroth. Additional playlists pair together Yuffie and Cait Sith themes, as well as The Turks personnel themes.

The compilations source their music tracks from Nobuo Uematsu's score for the PlayStation title, along with the Final Fantasy VII Remake score, the Brass de Bravo arrangement albums, Square Enix Jazz cover album, and Acoustic Arrangements.

From the Steam product page:
In Midgar, a city controlled by the mega-conglomerate Shinra Inc., the No. 1 Mako Reactor has been blown up by a rebel group, AVALANCHE. AVALANCHE was secretly formed to wage a rebellion against Shinra Inc., an organisation which is absorbing Mako energy, destroying the natural resources of the planet. Cloud, a former member of Shinra's elite combat force, SOLDIER, was involved with the bombing of the Mako Reactor. Can Cloud and AVALANCHE protect the planet from the huge, formidable enemy, Shinra Inc.?
