Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess launched for the Nintendo Wii console 16 years ago, on this date. Music for the game is composed by Toru Minegishi, Asuka Ohta, Koji Kondo, and Mahito Yokota.

The action-adventure game was marketed as a dark, ominous adventure set Hyrule. In an experiment that was repeated with Breath of the Wild, Twilight Princess served as a bridge between Nintendo consoles, seeing a cross-gen release separately on both the Wii and Nintendo GameCube.

In 2004, Shigeru Miyamoto appeared onstage at E3 wielding the Master Sword and Hylian Shield to unveil the preliminary footage of the GameCube game. The video montage unveiled Twilight's Link as the sun set in the evening, battling enemies while riding his horse Epona.

Record label Nippon Columbia's The Legend Of Zelda 30th Anniversary Concert album includes a Twilight Princess medley. Conducted by Taizo Takemoto and performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the live orchestral performance was recorded at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Theater in 2016. The two-disc compact disc release ships domestically through distributors Play-Asia and CDJapan.
