Farming sim Village in the Shade slated for release on October 27th
NIS America has slated Village in the Shade for release on October 27th. Developed by the staff of the Yomawari series, the farming sim is currently available in Japanese for Windows PC via Steam, verified for use with the Steam Deck.

Set in the mountain village of Kagatsu, Village in the Shade invites players to plant crops, raise livestock, and interact with the villagers. However, there is a darker, hidden side to this idyllic pastoral lifestyle.

The village has a code of rules passed down through generations. Violating them, such as by going outside late at night with a flashlight, may have negative consequences. Players seeking to avoid these horror elements can select the optional 'Peaceful Life Mode' at the outset of the game.

The Digital Deluxe Edition for consoles includes a digital soundtrack download code and mini art book. Music composed by Kazuya Takasu with ZIZZ STUDIO is previewed in a seven-minute crossfade trailer.

Village in the Shade: Limited Edition for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles will ship from the NIS America store, bundled with the art book and original soundtrack CD.

From the Steam product page:
Welcome to Kagatsu, a Japanese mountain village with plenty of secrets. In this brand-new, hand-painted farming sim, you'll plant crops, customize your homestead, and befriend a cast of intriguing characters.

Relax by the brook, watch the cherry blossoms with your neighbors, or take a stroll through town. With so many ways to relax, you're sure to feel right at home. Just make sure to follow a few simple rules: don't talk to strangers, don't leave the village, and, whatever you do, don't go out at night.
