Clear River Games has published Under Defeat, available for Windows PC and consoles. A soundtrack crossfade trailer is streaming on the YouTube channel of developer City Connection.

The vertical scrolling shoot-em-up arrived in arcades in Japan in October of 2005. Developer G.rev utilized the Sega NAOMI hardware, facilitating the release of a Sega Dreamcast port the following year. A high-definition remaster launched in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, featuring music composed by Shinji Hosoe of Sweeprecord, arranged by Yousuke Yasui.

City Connection published the limited edition Black Box in Japan for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 consoles,.
