Vertical scrolling shoot-em-up Under Defeat arrived in arcades in Japan in October of 2005. Border Down developer by G.rev utilized Sega NAOMI hardware, facilitating the release of a Sega Dreamcast port the following year.

A high-definition remaster launched in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, featuring music composed by Shinji Hosoe of Sweeprecord, arranged by Yousuke Yasui. City Connection will publish the Under Defeat limited edition Black Box on December 5th in Japan, available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 consoles.

Preorders have opened at distributors CDJapan and Play-Asia for the limited edition, bundled with a fan booklet and the soundtrack album on compact disc.
