Development began over a decade ago as a massively-multiplayer expansion for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The open world campaign invites players to sail the Indian Ocean on a customizable pirate ship, plundering trade routes in single-player or co-op play. Disputed Waters, a separate player-versus-player mode, allows up to five players to butt heads in tactical marine battles.
Ubisoft Music published the digital edition of the Original Game Soundtrack through streaming platforms. The 26-track album is available through Apple Music, YouTube Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music Unlimited. Other recent releases by Ubisoft include the music scores featured in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and The Crew: Motorfest.
Skull and Bones by Ubisoft Singapore is available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, along with Windows through the Epic Games Store. The Premium Edition includes the Art of Skull and Bones digital artbook and the Selected Game Soundtrack.
