Taito published Puzzle Bobble for the Nintendo Super Famicom console on January 13th of 1995. The puzzle game was localized for English-language regions later that year, under the title "Bust-A-Move."

Puzzle Bobble / Bust-a-Move (16-Bit Console Version) challenges players to match three or more bubbles of the same color to clear the board. The console port is available for Nintendo Switch, and playable on Switch 2, published by ININ Games.

In 1997, Taito published the music compilation "Puzzle Bobble Variety," containing background tracks from the Puzzle Bobble trilogy. Music for the original game is by Kazuko Umino (Karu.) and Yasuko Yamada (YASUKO) of Zuntata. The compilation album is streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music Unlimited, published by Taito.
