Developed by Alfa System and published by Sony, Ore no Shikabane wo Koete Yuke launched in 1999. Shoji Masuda contributed game design and scenario writing for the PlayStation dungeon crawler, influenced by traditional Japanese art and mythology.

Aniplex published the Oreshika soundtrack album that year, featuring music composed by Lioko Kihara. Previously, the musician scored Masuda's role-playing game Linda Cube for Sega Saturn. Arrangements for the 2011 PlayStation Portable port are by Kazuhiko Toyama.

Record label Team Entertainment pressed Ore no Shikabane wo Koete Yuke Complete Soundtrack on two compact discs in November of 2011. The 48-track soundtrack is now playing on Spotify, courtesy of Sony Interactive Entertainment. The album is also streaming on Amazon Music Unlimited.

The sequel Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines arrived exclusively on the PlayStation Vita portable console in 2014, receiving an English-language localization. Team Entertainment published the soundtrack on three compact discs, written by the original composer's son Konosuke Kihara. Vocal tracks are performed by Lioko Kihara.
