Disney Interactive Entertainment published 3D platformer Epic Mickey in 2010 for the Nintendo Wii console.

Overseen by Deus Ex director Warren Spector, Mickey Mouse joins Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in navigating a Wasteland of forgotten Disney characters. Epic Mickey Original Game Score by Jim Dooley is streaming on Apple Music and Amazon Music Unlimited.

During this week's Nintendo Direct livestream, THQ Nordic announced remake Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. The central gameplay mechanic has Mickey drawing and erase objects with a magic brush. Players collect virtual pins, tackle creative challenges, and uncover secrets within platforming levels inspired by animated films and shorts.

The remake developed by Purple Lamp allows Mickey new maneuvers, allowing him to dash, sprint and ground-pound. Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is planned for release this year for Windows through Steam, along with Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Series X|S consoles.
