Developers sought to blend challenging mechanics featured in old school horror games, set against the backdrop of a suitably punishing historical setting. Conscript depicts the Battle of Verdun of 1916, unfolding during the Great War. A French soldier searches for his brother Pierre, fending off enemy combatants with melee weapons and firearms.
Complex environmental puzzles also feature into the design of the contemporary classic horror experience. The Officer Edition bundle and Digital Soundtrack, composed by Sonny Igusti and mastered by Jim Rindfleish, are hosted on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG.com. Bonus late game save room track "The Blue Flame" is by Survival Spheres.
Conscript is also available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X|S consoles, published by Team17. The Windows edition is verified for use with the Steam Deck.
