Arcade Archives Darius II arrives on Nintendo Switch and PS4 consoles

Hamster Corporation has published Arcade Archives Darius II for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 consoles. The three-screen wide aspect ratio edition includes an options menu and digital manual in Japanese, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

Developer Taito's horizontal sidescrolling shoot-em-up, known as "Sagaia" when localized and ported to the Game Boy, debuted in arcades in 1989 and later saw home console ports for Sega's Mega Drive and Saturn consoles. A TurboGrafx-CD enhanced edition was published under the title "Super Darius II," adding new bosses and arranged tracks by T's MUSIC.

Darius II is also included in the arcade edition of Darius Cozmic Collection for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Windows via Steam, as well as ININ Games' Taito Milestones 2 compilation for Nintendo Switch. The 36-minute arcade soundtrack, composed by Hisayoshi Ogura of Zuntata, is streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.
