The Path of the Warrior: Art of Fighting 3 R joins Neo Geo Premium Selection
SNK Corporation has announced The Path of the Warrior: Art of Fighting 3 R. The Neo Geo Premium Selection title will be published via Steam, updated with brand-new features.

SNK's remaster adds two new combatants to the roster of playable characters: Muay Thai fighter King and Kyokugen Karate practitioner Yuri Sakazaki. An expanded Training Mode and new VS Mode have also been added. The remaster also implements improved gameplay balance, rollback netcode, and online multiplayer.

Spanning 25 music tracks, the Original Soundtrack by Shinsekai Gakkyoku Zatsugidan is available for streaming on Apple Music, YouTube Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music Unlimited. The announcement trailer can be viewed on the SNK Official YouTube channel.

A spin-off entry in the Art of Fighting series, the game is set in Glasshill Valley and follows the battles and personal stories of a diverse cast of martial artists. It introduced major gameplay innovations, including attack parries, pursuit attacks on downed opponents, and the Ultimate KO system, which allows a match to be decided with a single decisive blow. Visually, the game broke new ground for 2D fighting games in 1996, featuring remarkably fluid sprite animation created using rotoscoping techniques based on motion-captured performances.
