The King of Fighters '99 for Neo Geo AES launched on this date in 1999. The fighting game by SNK Corporation kicks off the second main story arc in KOF series, following the Orochi saga.

The King of Fighters '99 score, created for the Neo Geo's YM2610 sound chip, is by Shinsekai Gakkyoku Zatsugidan. Both the original soundtrack and arrangements are streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music, and Amazon Music Unlimited. The arrangement album features composers and arrangers Hideki Asanaka (SHA-V), Toshio Shimizu (SHIMIZM), Yasuo Yamate (TATE-NORIO), HORI-HORI (Masato Horiuchi), Hiroshi Yamazoe (ZOE), USAKO-X, and Marimo.
