Working Designs' English-language localization of Sega Saturn real-time strategy game Dragon Force arrived in North America on November 30th, 1996.
At the outset of the game, the player can select one of eight nations led by varying monarchs cohabiting the continent of Legendra. Between battles, the victor can allocate awards to generals and induct captive soldiers into the conquering army. Taking advantage of the Saturn hardware, Dragon Force boasted on-screen battles of up to 200 soldiers interacting in realtime.
In 2005, a PlayStation 2 port became the 17th installment in the Sega Ages 2500 series. The "Selections from Dragon Force" EP, featuring music from the game by Tatsuyuki Maeda, is streaming on Amazon Music Unlimited, Spotify, and YouTube Music.
