Combat demo released for turn-based tactical role-playing game Never's End
Independent developer Hypersect has released the combat demo through Steam for Never's End, featuring concept art by Masayoshi Nishimura. Development began in 2018 as a solo project by Ryan Juckett, expanding since that time into a team of five full-time developers.

The player character returns from the dead in the midst of a global cataclysm. Substituting the genre staple of recruiting allies, this undying warrior spirit possesses inhabitants from one remaining village to build out the party.

In battle, the forces of nature can be wielded to reshape the battlefield and gain advantage over the Never’s endless hordes. Temperature, weather, wind, water level, and the density of the earth are levers the player can exploit to gain the advantage in combat, in a bid to bring mankind back from near extinction.

The turn-based tactical role-playing game features a five-hour soundtrack by Enter the Gungeon series composer Doseone. Music is described as a blend of "traditional instrumentation, choral vocals and driving drums," modifying as the situation changes based on time of day and biome location.

From the neversendgame.com:
Never's End is a turn-based tactical RPG where you return from death into the midst of a global cataclysm. In the ruins of a once-thriving civilization, a single village remains standing—an island of safety in a world devoured by the creeping darkness of the Never.

You are humanity’s last hope: an undying warrior spirit, embodied in living silver, with the strength to face the Never’s endless hordes. Possess townsfolk to use them as living weapons, wield the forces of nature to reshape the battlefield, and lead mankind back from the brink of extinction.
