Brandish for Super Famicom turns 32, today
Developed by Nihon Falcom, Brandish launched for the NEC PC-9801 and Fujitsu FM Towns personal computers in October of 1991. Cover art is illustrated by Chrono Cross character designer Nobuteru Yūki.

Koei's home console port of the action role-playing game followed, arriving on the Super Famicom on this date in 1994. The Super Nintendo received an English-language localization the following year with altered protagonist names and outfits.

In 1994, King Records published the Brandish Piano Collection. Acoustic renditions of music from the first two Brandish series entries are arranged and performed by Keiichi Shibata. The album is streaming on Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music Unlimited, published by Nihon Falcom.

Music for the dungeon crawler is by Mieko Ishikawa and Atsushi Shirakawa (Tenmon) of Falcom Sound Team jdk. A 2-CD set titled "Original Sound Track ~FM TOWNS & Renewal" was included with the 2009 PSP remake Brandish: The Dark Revenant.

The first disc is comprised of the FM Towns score, while the second disc is dedicated to the Brandish Renewal re-release for PC-98. The "Renewal" key art, featured on the album cover, is by Front Mission 2 character designer Jun Suemi.
