The release of Trail to the Heavens: Final Fantasy XIV Original Soundtrack coincides with this year's Tokyo Game Show, taking place at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba City. The Blu-ray disc publication goes on sale Wednesday, September 16th in Japan.

The Trail to the Heavens soundtrack includes all 79 music tracks associated with the Patch 7.x series, spanning Patch 7.1 "Crossroads" to Patch 7.5 "Trail to the Heavens." An extra MP3 audio file set not found in the Blu-ray contents is also included.

Masayoshi Soken served as sound director and lead composer, collaborating with 7.x series co-composers Takafumi Imamura, Daiki Ishikawa, Saya Yasaki, Justin Frieden, and Shoya Sunakawa. Arcadion raid story finale “Everything Burns” by Tom Morello features Beartooth, with vocals by Caleb Shomo.

The massively multiplayer online game launched for Nintendo Switch 2 in August. The upcoming Evercold expansion (Patch 8.0) will go live in January of 2027. This content introduces a new zone, known as the Icebound Realm of the Fourth. Five main explorable regions within the Fourth include Hringhorni (Realmship of Fire) and Naglfar (Realmship of Water).

Final Fantasy XIV Online - Complete Edition is also available for Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, along with Windows and Mac operating systems.
