Retro City Rampage co-composer Leonard Paul of Lotus Audio will be presenting at the 2012 Game Developers Conference on Strange Loop Games' independently developed title Vessel. "Techniques of dynamic sound design will examine the methods of sequencing, layering, layered sequencing, spectral layering, effects parameter modulation, asymmetric loops and granulation."
The Square Enix Music Blog has posted an email interview in English and Japanese with Shootie HG (Shawn McPherson). The artist arranged the hard rock theme "Crazy Chocobo," composed by Nobuo Uematsu, found in Final Fantasy XIII-2. Previously he contributed vocals and lyrics for two songs featured in Devil May Cry 4, and served a similar role for a track found in Marvel vs Capcom 3.
The Independent Games Festival organizers have revealed the audio jury panel for the 2012 awards, taking place at GDC. Game arrange circle Woodsoft will be debuting their Castlevania tribute compilation "Chronicles of the Past" at Comic Market 81 in Tokyo, Japan on December 31. A three-minute cross-fade sample can be heard on the group's website by activating the blue "mp3" hypertext or clicking the gray player bar on the lower right corner of the screen.
Namco Sounds has released the soundtrack to Tekken 4 through iTunes. The 42-track album from the arcade and PlayStation 2 fighting game by Namco Bandai Games features music by Yu Miyake, Akitaka Tohyama and Satoru Kosaki, originally released on two compact discs in 2002.
Game cover band Bad Dudes of "Chronotorious" have released Metroid Arrange 25th Anniversary Album through Bandcamp. Both limited edition compact discs and digital downloads are available for purchase, including 14 arranged tracks from various Metroid game series titles.
Namco Bandai Games' digital distribution label Namco Sounds has released the soundtrack to Tekken 3 on iTunes. The 45-track album includes both arcade and PlayStation 2 renditions of themes from the fighting game soundtrack, composed by Nobuyoshi Sano, Keiichi Okabe, Hiroyuki Kawada, Minamo Takahashi and Yu Miyake. Brief samples of each track are available online.
Cipher Prime has released a four-track album available through Bandcamp for free download in your file format of choice, containing holiday downloadable content added to Pulse: Volume One for iPad. Pulse: It's a Prime Christmas includes music by composers 6955 of Super T.I.M.E. Force!, Leemus Music of Dependant, Jim Guthrie of Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery, as well as chiptune artist Doomcloud.

The 48-track album includes both renditions of music found in the PlayStation 2 and arcade releases of the fighting game by Namco Bandai. Music is by Nobuyoshi Sano, Akitaka Tohyama, Keiichi Okabe, Yu Miyake, Rio Hamamoto, Yoshihito Yano and Satoru Kosaki.
Supergiant Games audio director Darren Korb will be presenting at the 2012 Game Developers Conference. The lecture "Build That Wall: Creating the Audio for Bastion" will cover steps in the musician's creative process, from crafting the title's "eclectic acoustic frontier trip-hop soundtrack and haunting vocal melodies, to its innovative reactive narration and sound effects."
OverClocked ReMix has released Armed and Dangerous, a free Wild Arms remix album, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the PlayStation role-playing game. Arranging compositions by Michiko Naruke, the compilation is directed by Jennifer Aguirre and features arrangements by Mazedude, ilp0, k-wix, FFmusic DJ, Dj Mokram and Malcos, among other artists.
Trine series composer Ari Pulkkinen has released the special edition soundtrack to Trine 2 by Frozenbyte, out this week on Steam, Xbox 360 and PlayStation Network. The album includes 21 music tracks found in the game, along with two additional orchestral renditions, and can be purchased as mp3s or flac files by credit card through the artist's Aritunes website.
According to the Internet Movie Database, musicians Akira Yamaoka and Jeff Danna are reprising their roles on the 2006 Silent Hill motion picture for the 2012 sequel, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, currently in post-production.
Earlier this week, Square Enix streamed a forty-minute mixtape of numerous music tracks from their latest role-playing game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 during a Ustream event. Today that program, "Final Fantasy XIII-2 Mitsuto Suzuki Balearic Mix," has been uploaded to Square Enix's YouTube channel, previewing music from the soundtrack by Suzuki, Naoshi Mizuta and Masashi Hamauzu.
