Austin Wintory, composer of Journey and Monaco, will be writing original music for The Banner Saga, a role-playing game about vikings, merged with turn-based strategy. Created by Stoic, an independent developer based in Austin, the title is currently being funded through Kickstarter.

As a lone samurai in 19th century Japan, you are given the choice to help open the country to foreign trade or join the resistance. Czech developer Amanita Design will release their botanically themed point-and-click adventure title Botanicula on April 19. Each download will come with Windows, Mac and Linux applications, as well as the soundtrack in mp3 format. Last month the game score by music duo DVA received the 2012 IGF award for excellence in audio.

Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion developer DreamRift has released the soundtrack to pet-raising platformer Monster Tale through digital music distributors iTunes and CD Baby. All 31 music tracks from the album heard in the Nintendo DS title can be sampled online. Music is by Ian Stocker.

Square Enix has announced its latest round of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy downloadable contents. DLC for the Nintendo 3DS rhythm game will soon be updated with a vocal track from the unreleased Final Fantasy Versus XIII, written by Kingdom Hearts series composer Yoko Shimomura.

Alec Holowka has uploaded his full twelve-track soundtrack to Offspring Fling, a woodland action puzzle game developed in collaboration with game designer Kyle Pulver and out now for PC and Mac. The team's previous title, Depict1, received the 2010 Newgrounds Tank Award for Best Game of the Year.
